
Human Rights for "Changemakers"
The course’s objectives are to familiarize its participants with the foundational concepts, principles, and provisions of the contemporary universal human rights framework and to ignite their interest in working towards the improvement of human rights situation in Bermuda and elsewhere. Coming up in October 2025.
The “Human Rights for Change-makers” course is part of the Human Rights education training programme offered in partnership between the Human Rights Education Network (HuRen) and the Bermuda College Athora Division of Professional and Career Education (APACE). This course is a pre-requisite for the 9 youth participants to a wider Applied Research programme led by HuRen but it is open to local young people (18+) and other interested groups in Bermuda. The programme’s objectives are to familiarize its participants with the foundational concepts, principles, and provisions of the contemporary universal human rights framework and to ignite their interest in working towards the improvement of human rights situation in Bermuda and elsewhere.
The dates of the 2025 “Human Rights for Change-makers” course are Monday 6th October to Monday 31st October 2025. This is a 4 module (12-hour) hybrid online course delivered by (HuRen) Human Rights expert Veaceslav (Slava) Balan through asynchronous and live virtual sessions.
